Michael R. Andazola, Sr.’s roots go deep into Eastern Arizona. He was born in Morenci, Arizona, and raised in Clifton. Michael is a proud 1992 graduate of the former Clifton High School. He graduated from Eastern Arizona College with an A.A.S. degree in Administration of Justice. He has since earned a Legal Assistant/Paralegal AA degree from Brighton College, which he has used as a business development professional.  He is currently enrolled at Grand Canyon University to earn a bachelor’s degree in Government, with an emphasis in Legal Studies.

Michael is currently serving his second term as a Safford City Councilman, where he has earned a reputation as a consensus seeker and an advocate of Safford’s citizens. He is also an elected Republican Precinct Committeeman. He previously served as a vice chair of the Graham County Republican Committee, as well as the Executive Committee of the Arizona Republican Party.

Michael Andazola is an active member of several clubs and organizations in this community. He is an active member of St. Rose of Lima Parish in Safford. His passion for protecting the elderly is evidenced by his current service as the President of the Southeastern Arizona Community Unique Service’s (SEACUS) board of directors. Michael answered the call to serve his alma mater and is now on the board of directors of the Eastern Arizona College Foundation. As a Safford Lions Club Member, he has served as chairman for both the Gila Valley 4th of July Parade, and the Cinco de Mayo celebration. Michael serves as chairman of the Eastern Arizona Hispanic Heritage Corporation, where he is one of its founding members.  He honors his late father’s military service by fulfilling the role of Commander for Sons of the American Legion- Lopez/Hernandez Post No. 95, Solomon, Arizona. He is an active Auxiliary Member of VFW Post 10385, Thatcher, Arizona.

Michael Andazola loves the Gila Valley and the United States. His pride and joy are his daughter, Reese, and his son, Michael, Jr.
