NOTICE OF BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT HEARING
Notice is hereby given that a request for an appeal will be heard before the City of Safford Board of Adjustment at a public hearing to be held at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, December 14, 2020 in Safford’s Library Program Room, Safford Library Complex, 808 S. 7th Ave., Safford, Arizona.
Case Z-16-20 Ponderosa Aviation Appeal Request: An application has been received from Ponderosa Aviation for a request for an appeal from the 2015 International Building Code amendment that requires automatic fire sprinkler systems to be installed in all new structures having a total floor area exceeding 7,500 square feet. The applicant plans to add a 10,000 square foot hanger at the Safford Municipal Airport and is requesting an appeal of that amendment for this particular structure. 2015 International Building Code Section 113 Board of Appeals / Adjustment
113.2 Limitations on authority. An application for appeal shall be based on a claim that the true intent of this code or the rules legally adopted thereunder have been incorrectly interpreted, the provisions of this code do not fully apply or an equally good or better form of construction is proposed. The board shall not have authority to waive requirements of this code.
