NOTICE OF ZONING HEARINGS

NOTICE IS HEARBY GIVEN that the City of Safford Planning and Zoning Commission will hold a public hearing to consider for recommendation to the Safford City Council a proposal for the following:

Amend Zoning Ordinance Chapter 17.08, Section 17.08.040 – Definitions, adding a definition for a hospital and clinic for small animals, a hospital and clinic for large animals, and a shelter facility.

Amend Zoning Ordinance Chapter 17.24, Section 17.40.020 – Permitted Uses in the A-R Agricultural Residential District, adding hospital and clinic for small animals, hospital and clinic for large animals with limitations, and, shelter facilities with limitations.

Amend Zoning Ordinance Chapter 17.24, Section 17.52.020 Permitted Uses in the C-2 Highway Commercial District, adding hospital and clinic for large animals subject to certain limitations and a conditional use permit, shelter facility subject to certain limitations and a conditional use permit, and, correcting a cross reference for travel trailer parks.

Amend Zoning Ordinance Chapter 17.68, Section 17.68.020 Examples of Plot Plans replacing four figures that illustrate setback requirements for conventional homes, conventional homes on an alley, manufactured homes in a subdivision and manufactured homes in a manufactured home rental park. The amendment includes reducing the required rear yard and side yard setback for accessory structures such as storage sheds that are equal to or less than 200 square feet from seven (7) feet to three (3) feet. The required fifteen (15) foot corner lot side yard setback is to remain as is.

Amend Zoning Ordinance Chapter 17.24, Section 17.46.020 Permitted uses in the MHD Manufactured Home Development District, correcting Zoning Code cross references.

The public hearing will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 21, 2019, at Safford’s Library Program Room, Safford Library Complex, 808 S. 7th Ave., Safford, Arizona.

The Planning and Zoning Commission will make a recommendation to the Safford City Council and that recommendation will be presented to the City Council at a public hearing to be a held at 6:00 p.m. on January 13, 2020 in Safford’s Library Program Room, Safford Library Complex, 808 S. 7th Ave., Safford, Arizona.
