Are you operating a business within the City of Safford city limits?
Then you are in need of a City of Safford Business License--You are in the right spot!
Read below to see which type of license you will need to obtain and then click on the license type to the right of your screen to obtain the application and more information relating to the license.
Regular Business License:
o Will you be operating your business within the Safford City Limits?
o Will you be operating your business year round, on a “non-casual” basis?
Regular Business Licenses are valid per fiscal year (ex: July 1, 2010 thru June 30, 2011) and will need to be renewed at the end of each fiscal year. Renewal notices will be mailed, therefore any changes to your business name, address, phone number, etc should be reported to our office.
Cost: Regular Business Licenses cost $50 per year; amount is prorated for new businesses as of January 1 each year.
Transient Business License
o Will you be operating your business within the Safford City Limits?
o Will you be operating your business casually or randomly throughout the year?
o Will you be conducting your business on privately non-owned property in a non-stationary building, vehicle, tent, etc?
Transient Business Licenses are valid for 3 months from the date of purchase and will need to be renewed by the owner at the intervals the business is operated.
Cost: Transient Business Licenses cost $50 per 3 months
DON’T FORGET!
o Contact the State of Arizona to make sure you are in compliance with their business license rules and regulations.
o Businesses handling alcohol will need to obtain a Liquor License from the State of Arizona prior to the opening of business.
o Any business selling tangible goods will need to obtain an Arizona Tax ID Number prior to obtaining a City of Safford Business License.
o If you are handling food contact the Graham County Health Department at 928-428-1962. Mobile food vendors will need to obtain a permit (no extra charge) from the Planning & Community Development Department located at the City Annex, 808 8th Avenue in Safford.
o If you will be handing out flyers to advertise for your business or an event, a handbill permit is required. Handbill permits are $20 and are valid for 14 days from the date of purchase.
