Jason H. Kouts, Councilman
Jason Kouts is truly Safford's native son; the stock of four generations of Kouts' that carried on the family's traditional construction business in conjunction with a rich family history on both sides. His mother is a Morris that spans three generations. Her grandparents and great grandparents are also from Safford.
Jason graduated from Safford High School is 1990; received his contractor's license soon after that. Jason was always industrious and stayed busy in many interests in his life. He started his own business as a contractor in 1995.
Jason became a volunteer fireman for the City of Safford in 1991. He became involved in officiating basketball at the middle school. Seven years ago, he joined the AIA.
Jason has been involved in his church for over sixteen years and has served as an elder for seven.
Jason married Maria Nations in 1991 and they have three beautiful children: Josiah (15), Montana (13), and Austin (11); all honor students.
Jason is a strong supporter of the family unit. He is a strong personality and yet very giving and compassionate.
