Landfill User Rates Increase; Effective February 1, 1013

 

NOTICE IS HEARBY GIVEN that the Mayor and Council of the City of Safford will hold a public hearing to consider for recommendation to the Safford City Council Ordinance Number 13-001, a proposal to amend Title 16, Subdivisions and Ordinance Number 13-004, a proposal to amend Title 17, Zoning of the Municipal Code of the City of Safford dated 1999 by making comprehensive changes that include eliminating redundant language, deleting unnecessary provisions, changing language to improve consistency with other City ordinances and state law, updating terminology, consolidating certain sections, and revising language to improve readability. Specific changes also include, but are not limited to the following: addition of new definitions, revision and update of definitions, additional subdivision requirements, street sections revisions, addition of swimming pool barrier requirements, accessory building location requirements, approval of portable carports by the Zoning Administrator, clarification and revision of lot access requirements, revision of information required for various applications, modification of process and uses eligible for temporary and conditional use permits, elimination of use permit process, clarification of the conditions of approval for conditional use permits, allowance of renovated mobile homes, amendment of home occupation rules, revision of the parking requirements including the addition of new uses, modifying requirements for other uses, the addition of standards for parking spaces, parking lots and parking lot landscaping, new regulations for metal storage container boxes, new regulations for telecommunication towers and antennas, revisions to the nonconforming use provisions, addition of new zoning districts for duplex housing (R-2A) and public facilities (P-F), addition of an overlay zone to protect and enhance the character of the historic downtown (DT Overlay Zoning District), addition of uses to certain existing zoning districts, uses allowed in C-1 Zoning to be allowed in C-2 Zoning, clarification of screening requirements, requirements reducing impact of vacant buildings, revision of large scale development regulations by deleting sections dealing with group dwellings and zero lot line development, clarification of approval process, including that for planned unit developments, increase of street width standard, modification and clarification of community master plan regulations, revision of site plan approval requirements and process, revision of sign regulations to provide for electronic signage, sign walkers, home occupation signs, updated political signs regulations to reflect changes in state law and requirements to display street address numbers. The public hearing will be held at 6:00 PM on Monday, March 11, 2013, at Safford’s Library Program Room in the Safford Library Complex in Safford, Arizona. A copy of the proposed amended Chapter 16 and Chapter 17 are available for viewing at the City Clerk’s Office and the Community Development Department from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday through Thursday. The proposed amendments are also posted on the City’s web site at http://www.cityofsafford.us/.

In accordance with Section 38-431.01 of the Arizona Revised Statutes NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the MAYOR AND COUNCIL of the City of Safford, Graham County, Arizona, will hold a PUBLIC HEARING on Monday, April 8, 2013, at 6:00 p.m., in the Safford Library Program Room of the SAFFORD LIBRARY, located at 808 S 7th Avenue, Safford, Arizona regarding a New, Series 10 Beer & Wine Liquor License Application submitted by Owner/Agent, Clare Hollie Abel, on behalf of Dollar General Store #6614 located at 1640 West Thatcher Blvd, Safford, Graham, County, Arizona.
All members of the public are invited to attend the hearing. For those persons unable to attend, written comments will be accepted until 4:00 p.m. the day of the public hearing in the Office of the City Clerk, 717 West Main Street, Safford, Arizona 85546.
