Safford 2020 Census

The City of Safford is a proud supporter of the 2020 Census. Along with our neighboring communities in Graham County, we pledge to be counted.

Our goal is to provide resources to educate our community on the importance and benefits of completing and submitting the 2020 Census questionnaire, and to encourage every Safford household to participate.

What is the Census?

How can I complete the Census?
Online. The 2020 Census is the first year the survey is available to be completed online. You will receive an invitation in the mail with a personal code and directions. Go to to participate.
Phone. Survey data can be entered by calling the U.S. Census Bureau. For English call: 844-330-2020 and for Spanish call: 844-468-2020
Mail. Paper surveys will be made available to households in June, 2020.

Are you curious about how many people in your community are responding to the 2020 Census? Starting March 20th, you’ll be able stay up to date with a map of self-response rates from across the United States. Use the map to see the self-response rate for the 2020 Census in our State, County, and City.

2010 Self- response rates for:
Arizona- 61.3 %
Graham County- 48.8%
Safford- 60.7%

THANKS TO RESPONSES TO THE 2010 CENSUS, WE LEARNED: The population in the United States on April 1, 2010, was 308,745,538.
